Thought I would post real quick and update ya'll. I am still feeling really crappy. After a trip back to the doctor on Mon, Wed, and Thursday I am no better. The dizziness and pressure in my ears and head are horrible. I am going to see an ENT next week and hopefully I can get some relief. I still have so much shopping to do:(

What Is Wrong With My....
Ear? OK, this started last night. My right ear feels like it has an enormous amount of pressure and it feels as though it is pulsating (this comes and goes). I have had a headache and I am so dizzy. Trying to keep my balance at times seems really hard. So, I'm thinking ok maybe this is just a fluke thing. Went to bed early last night and did not sleep good at all. What did I wake up to? Same thing. But the dizziness is worse -feels like I am just a little drunk- and I feel sick tomy stomach. Anyway, now there is a little sudden pain that comes off and on in the right ear (and the left a little). And I am freezing to death -can't seem to get warm.
Guess I am going to have to make a trip to the doctor tomorrow. Maybe this is some kind of inner ear thing??? Not sure, I have never had anything like this before. Back curled up under this comforter I go.
What is wrong with my ear?

Not Much Happening
Not much going on around here today. I have been working, eating low carb, and drinking my Crystal Light. Oh, and I have been trying to breed our Shih tzu to my mom's Yorkie. Did not have success at my house so I took them to my mom's house and that seems to be more of a love pad for them for some reason. Whatever, I don't care I just want them to get down to business and have some puppies. I will keep you posted...things are happening over at my mom's but this could take several days!
I plan to put up the Christmas tree tonight. We are decorating it for LSU (Louisiana State University) football this year. Kenny and the kids love LSU -me well it really doesn't matter. I don't care for watching football on tv to much. I only have some of the decorations but atleast we could get the furniture moved and the tree up with the lights and finish ornaments this weekend.
Hope everyone is having a good day!

Work, Work, Work
It's 2:37pm and I am tired. I started working at 7:30am this morning only to have major DSL problems and the stupid phone/internet company to tell me until 10:30am that they were not sure what was going on but they did know there was a problem!!! Well, how freaking lovely -I would have never guessed that if they had not told me! How kind of them....

Baggy Jeans
Went into the office to work today. I wore a pair of jeans (why do we call them a pair when they are really just one?) today that I used to not be able to wear. Well, they were baggy and so comfy!! What a change from wearing jeans that were to tight causing a muffin top upon the top of my jeans. I am actually still wearing them right now (7pm) and that is something I used to never do. Before I lost some weight, I used to run in the house as fast as I could and change into pajama pants that at the time were getting to small. That's another thing, all of my jammie pants are very loose now and I am telling you right now I was stretching the seams in them before and I mean that literally! Baggy jeans and jammie bottoms....I'm lovin' it!!!
I made the Low Carb Quiche recipe that I posted below and it was really yummy! No one else will probably want any so I will eat on it off and on this week. I changed the recipe up a bit as I always do. I used only 2 cups of cheese and used dry onion seasoning instead of regular onions as they have more carbs than I would have thought.
Warning, bout to get a little gross here...
This morning I was taking the kids to school when Brittany (16 yr old daughter) discovers she left her clarinet at home. Considering I had left some papers I really needed to take with me, we decided to drop off Katelyn (13 yr old daughter) and let her tell the band director Brittany would be there in just a few minutes. So, off we are to drop off Hunter now (9 yr old son). Now, the elementary is down the road from the high school where we dropped Katleyn off at. So, as I am going down the road a car pulls out in front of me and then proceeds to stop in the middle of the stinking road! What the crap is this guy doing, I asked Brittany (who was riding in the front with me). Then he hangs his head out the window and is stopped to yep -THROW UP!!! OK, what the crap? Can the guy not pull off the road atleast. No, there he is in all his throwing up glory with it running down the side of his door. GROSS!!! Finally, he starts drining again. Thank goodness we're atleast moving again, well no, I spoke to soon!! He stops AGAIN TO THROW UP OUT HIS WINDOW!!! When he is done this time he pulls into the parking lot of the park. Geez Louise!!! It was too early for this crap. Brittany and I could not even begin to figure out what the idiot was thinking.
There, we have Hunter dropped off and we're on our way to our house. This means we have to pass the park again and there the freaking idiot is again FACING THE ROAD THROWING UP!! He actually walked away from his car a little -closer to the road -standing straight up -leaning his head over a little throwing up!!! At this point Brittany is like, "What is this guy thinking, can't he atleast move away from the road"? I respond and tell her I don't know this idiot's problem is but you would think he could atleast try to make it to the park bathroom that was 25 feet away. Amazing. People are just freaking amazing!!
Then, this evening I go to the little grocery store (or so they call themselves) and then by the Family Dollar to pick up some Crystal Light (no carbs) and that same idiot was pulling out of the Chevron. I tell you right now....I hauled butt and did not let him pull out in front of me!!

Low Carb Quiche
Here is a recipe I found (can't remember where) that I plan to try this week:
Cheese and Spinach Crustless Quiche
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
1 onion
1 package of unthawed frozen spinach
6 eggs
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 cups of cheddar cheese
Salt and Pepper
Sautee onion in pan with olive oil . Add Spinach and cook until tender.
In a bowl, beat eggs and add cheese, salt and pepper.
Once spinach and onions ready, add to egg mixture and mix until even.
Spray a pie plate with Pam or Olive Oil Spray.
Pour ingredients and bake for 30 minutes, or until the quiche is golden brown and firm.
Carbs:
hardly any. Only in the cheese and onion.

Football and Food
Hunter's football team (that my husband Kenny coaches) had a playoff game yesterday. His team won 12 - 6. Next week we will be playing in the Super Bowl for the 3rd and 4th grade teams in our district.
I did not have time to really eat yesterday morning before I left for the game. So, I ate 1/2 cup of low fat cottage cheese and a string cheese after I got there. I took a 33oz bottle of water with me and drank it all before we left.
Protein shake.
Lunch, I had spinach and a small piece of chicken breast.
Protein shake.
Supper, was 2 eggs, onion, spinach, and mushrooms. yummmm
Protein shake.
Now mind you, Kenny made Rotel dip as soon as we got home while we watched the LSU football game (that's the family team). I was not even tempted after the loss I experienced last week! I am trying very hard to keep my carbs below 15 - 20 per day.

Whey Protein
So I mentioned I started drinking Whey Protein. I purchased Body Fortress Vanilla Whey Protein at WalMart for $13.74 yesterday. I drank one glass last night and 3 glasses today. This is the drink recipe I tried:
Dreamsicle Protein Drink
1-2 scoops of Whey Protiein
Diet Sunkist
1 1/2 TBSP Heavy Whipping Cream (can use more just watch the added calories here)
Mix and enjoy!
This recipe tasted like I was having a cheat and wasn't!
I have to say the powder seems to take on a large part of the flavor you are mixing it with. Other ideas I have found are to use root beer, diet coke, skim milk. I was thinking tomorrow I may add some coffee instead and try to make an iced coffee...yum! Think I will use the coffee, heavy cream, vanilla, and of course the protein powder. I also read a recipe to make as above except with the skim milk, vanilla, and cinnamon....hmmmmmm sounds tasty.
The 3 drinks I had today were between meals. I seemed to stay full but most of all content. That is a feeling I have not had lately. Did not find myself thinking of food or what I could munch on next.
Here are some details on whey protein helping weight loss.
* Protein requires more energy to digest than other foods (called the thermic effect of food). This helps use more calories and may help with weight loss.
* High quality proteins like whey protein help to preserve lean muscle tissue while you lose fat.
* Protein also helps to slow down the absorption of glucose into the bloodstream. This reduces hunger by reducing insulin levels and making it easier for the body to burn fat.
* Protein has a greater ability to promote satiety than do fat and carbohydrates. Whey protein contains a special component called glycomacropeptide, or GMP. GMP helps promote the release of CCK, which is an appetite-suppressing hormone. This may help you feel full and help you stop eating sooner.
Another important benefit of whey protein is its ability to support the immune system. It promotes the formation of glutathione, an anti-oxidant, which plays a key role in supporting the immune system. This is very important to me due to my existing health issues.
In spite of how gross my family thinks it is I have jumped in head first to give this a real try....we'll see! Let me know if you decide to give it a try.

After Much Research...
I have decided to make some changes around here. After having my two bad eating days and having that heart to heart with myself I realized I had suddenly come to a cross road in my weight loss journey. I have become bored with my current eating therefore not paying as much attention to it as I should. Now I refuse to regain what I have lost and furthermore I refuse not to meet my goal. I researched some changes I could make and what it was I really wanted to do. Many things factored into my decision: existing health issues, family history of heart problems, proper care of my body and more. So here is what I started on Monday. I know many of you are not going to be a fan of this but it is what I feel I need to do right now. If it doesn't work back to more research....
I have changed to a low carb diet. Not exactly Atkins, South Beach, or Stillmans and heavens NO not Kimkins. I have been watching my carb intake eating turkey, chicken, eggs, low carb veggies, 8 glasses of water and whey protein drinks several times a day (I will post more on protein drinks later in another post). I have a sort of tweaked regimen I am trying and I will see how the end of month plays out for me on Friday. I am staying very focused on my foods and not taking my eye off the ball. I am also making myself take my multi-vitamin regularly, Vitamin C regularly, and my prescription Folic Acid.
I will weigh in on Friday morning (as that is weigh in day over at Wicked Weighs) and report how I am doing. Wishing you and me luck this week and every week after!!!!

My Very First Award...
I knew it was going to be a dang good day when I woke up to find I had received my very first blog award this morning!!!!! Who me? Little ole me (well maybe not so little)! I am so happy, surprised and HONORED. I received this award from Shelli over at Shelli's Sentiments. She also has her weight loss blog at Shelli's Losin It. Not to mention that our blog names are almost identical (by accident...lol), we both love snow, and most of all we are both Kid Rock fans!! Here is what Shelli had to say about me:
Another Kid Rock lover. You would think that it is a theme with me. I didn’t realize the connections until I had already picked them out. I like Laura because she puts out stuff daily (or so) that is helpful to other people. She started her blog as a weight loss blog, but it doesn’t seem like that’s what it is. Nevertheless, she inspires with her words, her actions and her incredible weight loss!
Shelli, thanks so much for your kind words. It is so nice to see and hear how others think of you. I am sending you lots of hugs and snow for giving me this award!!!
So here's the scoop that Shelli shared with the award:
Those people I’ve given this award to are encouraged to post it on their own blogs; list three things they believe are necessary for good, powerful writing; and then pass the award on to the five blogs they want to honor, who in turn pass it on to five others, etc., etc. Let’s send a roar through the blogosphere! The image at the top right can be copied and pasted onto other blogs. Also, a small size of the award for sidebars can be found over at the writing circle site.
My three things are:
1. Write from your heart. If you really believe it, feel it, live it write it. Those are the things that come naturally to write about and for the person reading they can feel what you are saying through your words. Passion comes from the heart...
2. Be positive. Write in a manner that encourages people (now we all have our rants #3 below). Face it this, this is a rough world we live in day to day and sharing some upbeat words or even funny things that happen to us each day go a long way. Find some good stuff and write about it!
3. Rant when you need to. I know, I know I just said to be positive, but I have to admit sometimes it is so much more powerful for me to share my rants and frustrations here in blogosphere as apposed to my other sphere I live in. Share your downs when you have them because we are all waiting here to listen and help scoop you back up on your feet!
As Shelli has said at her place now for the hard part. I will be listing my five choices to award here tomorrow. Be sure to stayed tune.......

Two Days of Bad Eating
As I mentioned in my post below I had two bad days of eating. I did really well in my opinion on Thanksgiving Day. I had pickles, olives, green onions, cranbery sauce, white turkey, 1 helping of dressing, one helping of baked beans. For dessert I had two pieces of pumpkin pie made from can pumpkin, and fat fee Eagle Brand. I had water all day and two cups of coffee. For supper I had a little turkey and another helping of baked beans. Now considering all of the options I had that I could have eaten, I felt I did ok.
Then Friday came. It started raining a little here with cold temps and I worked off an on at home. I finished up around 3pm and it hit me. I was just so stinking hungry. I don't even really remember what all I had to eat, but it definately was not the greatest choices I could have made.
Then Saturday. It was raining really bad all day and was pretty cold for East Texas. I know I ate way to much peanut butter and other crap. Just crap. We went to eat dinner with Brittany's boyfriend family. That's right we went to visit Big Momma again...(update on Big Momma -she sent 13 days in the hospital and then went home. She is looking so much better and is doing well!). Big Momma's husband cooked supper and boy did he cook some wonderful food!! One of my fave's meatloaf!! And the others I eat -green beans, mushrooms, and peas. Not to bad unti I had seconds of the delicious meatloaf and them pound cake with cool whip and berries for dessert.
I am not even going to depress you with Sunday. Let's just say it was no better and I am thinking I should be glad I gained 2 pounds. I guess I am just glad this binge eating is over with. I do think that it is a good thing that I can now recognize it as what it is -binge eating. That was my normal eating pattern (even worse) before I started my weight los journey July 23.
There. That's the two days of bad eating story. That's it. Not to be mentioned again. In the past. OVER!!!
By the way I have found homes for two of my baby puppies. One to my inlaws (could not ask for a better home) and that other is to a family friend (another great home). I will be able to continue seeing both puppies and that makes me so happy!!! Those two cuties are now names Teddy (my inlaws chaned his name to this) and Gizmo (we had named him this and the new owner likes the name). We kept the black puppy and a doll she is. We named her Darla. What a precious baby. Just precious!
To each of you thanks for listening and hey, stay tuned!!!!

Morning!
Morning to all my blogging friends!! I am sitting here working at home this morning and finishing up on my 1st cup of coffee. Novemeber is closing in on my and I had set a goal of losing 8 pounds. Let me tell you it is on this week! I am trying to kick so real fat off my but by Friday 11/30. I weighed this past Saturday and had gained 2 stinking pounds. I have to admit I had a bad two days of eating which I will post about later.
Anyway, having gained 2 pounds that puts me to having only lost 4 pounds for the month. BLECH. As hard as it will be my eye is on the goal for Friday, I will have to lose 4 pounds to be at goal. This will be really hard, but considering I have been having some problems with the 2 days of bad eating (details coming), constipation, and not drinking my water. Planning to straighten these things out. I had a meeting with myself...ended in a few slaps...and self said she is getting her crap TOGETHER!!!
I would really like to have a December Challenge (weight loss oriented of course). Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Self and I already have our thinking caps on!!

What Diets Have I tried?
I have been surfing all around the web today looking at blogs and forums. Saw several diets I have tried and several I haven't. Made me start thinking of the differenet ones I have tried. Here is what I can think of:
Slim Fast-Can't remember anything except they made me feel sick and was still hungry.
Low-Fat-I did not eat more than 15grams of fat a day and really lost weight.
Atkins Diet-did not like this at all. I felt horrible, but I did not do it very long.
South Beach Diet- Really liked this one and lost weight. Looked and I can't find my book:(
Cabbage Soup Diet-I lost some weight but could not do this for long
Apple Cider Diet- disgusting
Stacker 2- Lost about 55lbs taking these when they had Ephedra.
Metabolife-Lost about 40lbs taking these.
Rice Diet-Did this for about 2 weeks and lost 10 pounds. Got sick (health issues) and just never did it again.
Green Tea Fat Burners-Could not tell they did anything at all.
Trim Spa-No results at all. Could not tell it did anything.
Hydroxycut-Seemed to curb my appetite a little and gave me horrible headaches.
Alli-Well, you have all read here what Alli did for me. It was great to get my head on straight about eating.
Low Cal, Low Fat-Difenately seeing results. But slowly...that's said to be the best after all.
Weight Loss Clinic-This was a long time ago and they gave you appetite suppresants and b12 shots. Lost some weight.
Geez!! Guess I have been searching and trying for quite a while! Did't really realize my list would look like this. I have to say many times I have tried the lose weight fast options and can't say that I won't again. However, this time I have dealt with my eating habits and worked on changing them first. In the past, I just went straight for the lose weight fast tactic. Now it's your turn. Share what all you have tried and details of what you thought about each. Let us know what you would suggest...

A Diet Controversy...
The first picture is the red dress photo Kimmer/Heidi Diaz posted as her current photo in May 2007. This photo is really from a Russian Mail Order Bride website here.
___________________________________________________________
It all started yesterday morning as I was working from home and the tv was on. I went to the kitchen to get another cup of coffee when the tv caught my attention. The Mike and Juliet Morning Show. I never have watched this show before so I don't even know why it was on this channel. They were doing a story on the Kimkins.com internet diet scam. Here is a YouTube link to the story that aired as I cannot get the direct video on the M and K website to work. I was in total amazement. This woman "Kimmer" who is really "Heidi Diaz" after she has said many times she is not Heidi has really misled some people into a sham of a diet in my opinion after reading many blogs and articales online. She claimed she had lost 198lbs in 11 months with the Kimkins Diet and claimed she had maintained her weight of 118lbs and posted the red dress photo on the kimkins.com website as her current photo. It was then discovered this was a photo of a Russian mail order bride (click on source above below red dress photo).
*Blaming people for not being strict enough if they don't continue to lose weight very quickly (up to a pound per day). People eating only 400 calories per day have reportedly been encouraged to continue.
*Sheltering people who show signs of eating disorders, and encouraging them to keep going (or at least not intervening with their self-descriptions of eating very little).

I knew there would be but like I said I thought I could handle it. What a mistake that was. I got what I absolutely had to have and got the heck out of there!
